Your dinner is going to be great! Why not eat?
After many years as a Wedding photographer I can honesty say that the best, most enjoyable Weddings were the ones in which the Bride and the Groom had enough time to sit down during dinner. Actually the point of this article is not the food, but time. I find it almost sad that a day that is months even years of planning does not have time set aside for the Bride and Groom. About a year ago, I met a wonderful couple named Anna and Vito. Typical Italian family - from mainly an Italian area just north of the city. They had only one request for their wedding HAVE A GOOD TIME. They planned the day in such a way as to leave them enough time that all aspects of the wedding were covered. In addition, they also understood what was important to them, versus what was important to their family. Photographs of the family were done BEFORE dinner! The family was told that anyone who missed the photography session because they were late would miss out on the photos as they were going to be too busy PARTYING!!! After dinner to spend 45 minutes taking photos.

Here is my top 10 reasons why I absolutely hate taking family photos after dinner:
10. It has been exactly 12 hour since I knocked on the grooms door - I just don't have it in me to say SMILE!
9. Where is uncle Tony?
8. The flowers that look so beautiful a 11.00 am are dead and look dead a 9:45pm
7. Too bad the groom is in the bathroom making future business plans with his friends.
6. All set to go but, noticed the bride is in the middle of dance floor and Dancing Queen just started.
5. The light in the reception was great at 4:30 when it was daytime, now I have to add 2000 watts of light to see the whole group.
4. Why do babies get soooo cranky, just because they haven't slept in 12 hours!
3. Boy, your uncle Tony is a slob! Dropped half a plate of pasta on his shirt!
2. Can't find the brides brother, can't find the grooms cousin!!!! (check the Mustang in the parking lot!)
1. EVERYONE HATES TAKING PICTURES WHEN THEY COULD BE PARTYING!!!
