Copy Right Information
This is a very serious topic that unfortunately we are forced to contend with every single day. Like the Music Industry with Napster, the Wedding Photography Industry is constantly battling against the theft of our images. In the case of your Wedding and Engagement photographs and video, why would you want to copy them? Only to save money. The reality is that when you reproduce new photographs or copy the wedding video you are stealing. And what your are getting ,besides a bad name, is a very poor copy of the original. The process of scanning to reproduce images and video is flawed. What you end up with is a very poor representation of the original. The color is off, it produces grain, and the image sharpness is ALWAYS OFF!! Why pay thousands of dollars to a Professional Photographer only to cheap out on the reproduction? In the end you might save a few bucks but you still end up with garbage, and that is what people will think of our and your photographs when you show them your copies!!!
According to federal Canadian Law, images produced by a professional photographer are copy righted the moment they are created. Federal law prohibits copying or reproducing copy righted material without permission from the owner of the copyright, i.e., the photographer. If you copy or scan your photos, the photographer should be paid just as if you were buying reprints. If you or your Videographer transfer the proofs to videotape, the photographer should be paid just as if you were buying reprints. We will not tolerate copying photographs in any way and will immediately begin legal action without notice. Just because the proofs are include does NOT mean that the images belong to you. The actual photographic/video material is what is included ONLY!!
This includes ALL images, For example:
engagement photos for any purpose (church programs, gift tags, invitations, CD Cases, memory boards, bombanieres, etc.)
extra prints of any size
internet sharing (yes believe it!!) recent case went to the supreme court. In this case we are allowing internet reproduction so long as you send us a copy by email
Please, understand that no matter how much money you have spent, or how justified you may feel that you paid for these proof and photo copying of Professional Images IS ILLEGAL. If you have ANY questions PLEASE email us, and we will explain in detail. For the above mentioned reasons we now stamp all proofs.
