Ok, so I travel alot. I usually have an imagined vision of the place I am about to visit. The best part about going to all these exotic places is that you NEVER get it right. Rarely is a place equal to actually being there. In Paris, I believed that after I return home my most treasured moment would be viewing the city from the top of the Effiel tower, maybe seeing a famous work of art in the Louvre, but its not. I remember eating. (no jokes you guys) Marianna and I bought 200 grams of cooked shrimp from a street vendor on the street, like a hotdog stand and sat in the park and ate them. It was our Honeymoon 1997.
When you are choosing your Wedding and Engagment portraits you are not just choosing a few snap shots to fullfill an order - you are choosing how you want the world, your family, and even yourself to remember how you looked on that special day.
Engagement Portraits
The current trend is collages. Because our photography is soooo good (it really is), our biggest complaint is that most couples cannot choose just one photo. Collages allow you to include any number of photos. As the mattes are usually custom cut we can do all sorts of funky things. Multiple images, digital effects and unique framing.
When you arrive for the Engagement Shot I will will spend alot of time talking to you, I'll ask tons of questions, like where are you going on your honeymoon, which hall are you going to, do you like sushi. Based on what you tell me I will begin to learn about what YOU are all about. Obviously if you are both members of some amish clan I keep the funky stuff for someone else. When you do get to see you proofs the best thing is to choose the top 5 or 6 photos and let Myself or Marianna help you form your vision. Using both traditional and modern artistic presentation techniques we can easily guide you in the right direction
Wedding Portraits
When we are working on your wedding day we do not stick to one distinct style. The reason is that your wedding day photography opportunities change as the day goes on. For Example, posed traditional portrait or not possible in the church, and who wants to be posing for photos at 10pm at night. So those time are reserved of candid and photojournalistic photography. The ultimate Portrait is usually from the Photography Session in the afternoon (but it doesn't have to be), Based on our conversations with you we will shoot in a style YOU prefer. I personally like really cool funky shots, but last week I had a couple who only liked traditioanl, no problem we aim to please! You ulitmately determine what you get.
Either way, I think the point of this article is that if you communicate your ideas, your likes and dislikes you are guaranteed to be satisfied.
